looking back:

Looking back, I am very proud of the drawings I have made. Recently, I started to draw two young kids, but then I realized that it would be more fun to draw people I know. So, I have two unfinished projects that I do not plan on finishing. This is a picture of me drawing a young girl:

looking forward:

Looking forward, I want to continue drawing faces and exploring how to portray emotions. I think it would be really cool to put together a lot of faces that show different emotions. I am going to finish the sketch of my parents and I want to continue working on the colorful lion I was painting.

Takeaways:

I really enjoy drawing people that I know: Friends and family. I also like to paint with color because all of my sketches are black and white, which gets boring sometimes.

Mark Bradford made art from his life experiences and childhood and I think that makes his painting more meaningful to him and others. He talked about how he wanted it to seem like people were inside and outside. I’ve been wanting to create art that is “meaningful”, and I was thinking about making something that would spread a message. He inspired me that I do not need to make a piece that has a random meaning but if I make it based on how I feel and my life, it could be a lot deeper.
